I am aiming to raise money to support Melanoma Institute Australia,a cause that is close to my heart - I had a malignant melanoma on my back when I was only 12.  I was referred to the Melanoma Unit, then at RPA, where Prof. Thompson and the staff gave me top class care.  28 years later I am able to celebrate my 40th birthday - a celebration of LIFE!

The Sydney Melanoma Unit became Melanoma Institute Australia after a generous gift of $40 million by philanthropist Greg Poche funded the construction of a purpose-built melanoma facility in North Sydney near the Mater Hospital. Over coming years, Melanoma Institute Australia aims to position itself at the forefront of melanoma research and treatment not just in Sydney but in Australia and beyond, while educating the next generation of clinicians and researchers. With its multidisciplinary approach to research and care, the Institute has the ultimate aim of finding a cure for melanoma. 

Melanoma Institute Australia's dedication to preventing and curing melanoma through innovative, world-class research, treatment and education programs is helped by donations that the public can make.  I would welcome any contribution, great or small, that you could make - I've set the target at $250, but it would be great to smash that to pieces! (Not all of us are like Greg Poche and able to donate millions, but any amount would be put to great use!)
